High Performance Corrosion Preventative
Q-KOAT 686 is an oil/solvent blend rust preventative that has been specifically designed to provide corrosion protection in short and long term indoor storage conditions. It can also provide corrosion protection during short periods of transportation, provided the parts have been properly covered from direct contact with precipitation.
Q-KOAT 686 leaves a light oily film that provides 12-18 months indoor storage protection. It displaces freestanding water, emulsions, and alkaline cleaners with a protective film. It is specially formulated to be low misting during spray applications and is formulated with a vapor phase corrosion inhibitor to offer additional corrosion protection to surfaces that may not have been adequately coated with rust preventative. Q-KOAT 686 doesn't contain barium. It is packaged in totes and drums. Bulk and pails are available.
Q-KOAT 686 is designed to be applied neat. To achieve maximum corrosion protection and water displacement, parts should be dipped into Q-KOAT 686. Effective results can also be achieved by spraying if the equipment can provide a sufficient and uniform coating of Q-KOAT 686.
