Water Based Rust Preventative
Q-GUARD 630 is a synthetic water-based rust preventive. The product is designed for use on ferrous metals and leaves an imperceptible film. Q-GUARD 630 is designed as an in-process corrosion preventive for indoor storage protection.
Q-GUARD 630 does not contain barium, diethanolamine, nitrites, or phenols. It is packaged in 310-gallon totes, 55-gallon drums, and 5-gallon pails.
Q-GUARD 630 can be applied to ferrous metals by spray or dip applications. The product can be used in the last stage of a spray washer or in stand-alone dip tanks. The product mixes easily with water. The recommended operating concentration is 2-10%, depending on the length of protection needed. The product is designed to give 10 months indoor storage protection if used at 10%. Q-GUARD 630 can be heated to facilitate drying.
Use a QualiChem Alkalinity Test Kit (QAT001) or equivalent with 1.0N sulfuric acid. Determine the number of drops necessary to cause the color change. Multiply the number of drops by the titration conversion factor below to determine the percent concentration: Drops x Factor = % Concentration.
